How it Began
I decided to have a go at knitting when I was pregnant with my second child in 2018. I quickly fell in love with the craft and decided to share my passion and knowledge by recording the first episode of The Knitting Pickle Podcast in April 2021. With the support of my viewers and a new found confidence, I decided to learn all I could about knitwear design.
After the success of the Soufflé and with the children soon starting school, I am now focusing on growing as a designer and bringing lots more size inclusive patterns to the market.
My name is Laura and I gratefully took on the name Penrose when I married my Husband. I live in the UK and have 2 beautiful children.

Here at Penrose Knits size inclusivity is of the utmost importance. This doesn't just mean a wide range of sizes, but accurate grading and giving as much information as possible to allow knitters to personalise the fit of my patterns.
All of my patterns have been professionally tech edited and fully tested to give you the best knitting experience possible. If you do however find an error or need any help at all, please get in touch.
